Asparagus is the first sign that Summer is just around the corner. You can use a veggie peeler to get thin ribbons to add to a salad, but I love to throw some flavours on there and then cook it on a griddle pan to get those char marks.

Last night I hosted a spiced chocolate truffle event at my favourite London venue – Alno. The exclusive networking event for Female Focus was full of interesting, successful women who didn’t hesitate to kick off their heels, roll up their sleeves and pop on an apron.

This is the ideal drink to make when the weather turns chilly and the dark nights draw in. You can add whatever alcohol you fancy but I prefer brandy. It seems to work beautifully with the spices and citrus.

Spices often scare people. There are so many to choose from and it’s confusing knowing when to add them and what they will do to the flavour. Once you know how to use them..you are going to become addicted…just like me!
