Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

Serves: Makes 2 cups

Difficulty: Easy

It’s not hard to make a hot chocolate and everyone adds their own flavours. This is my favourite recipe for when I need a pick-me-up.


  • 400 ml milk
  • 100 ml double cream
  • 2 heaped tablespoons drinking chocolate/cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon malt/Ovaltine (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder


1. Put all the ingredients in a pan and gently heat up.

2. Using a hand whisk keep mixing the hot chocolate until boiling and frothy.

3. Serve piping hot with your favourite chocolate bar for dipping.
